Dyeing wool - with natural materials
More information on this will follow soon!
The strands are about 20 grams, and dyed with natural dyes.
The left one is dyed with blueberries, and the right one with red beetroot. Both are stained with alum, and the left strand is also treated with vinegar, which makes the colour adhere better and become slightly brighter.
Some plants to be used with their hues.
The complete list is in the book called Herbs by Lesley Bremness.

The above skeins of wool became beautiful spring colours.
The orange and yellow were obtained with the peels of onions. Orange is from the first dye bath, when it was out I saw that there was still pigment left in the dye bath, so I added another skein and a nice softer yellow colour came out.
The green colour was obtained from carrot foliage.
Both were stained with alum.
